Executive life begins at 50: Exec search firm for over 50s launched
An executive search firm for the over 50s has been launched in the UK.
Executive Grapevine reports that amongst the first of its kind, CNA Age Positive, part of Pertemps Network Group, has launched to address a widening skills gap and enable over 50s to work for longer.
Duncan Keil, CEO and Senior Partner at The Age Positive Community and Age Positive Executive Search, is the brainchild behind CNA Age Positive. He said: “There exists a skills deficit in the UK that appears to be widening all the time. We are also witnessing an ageing population across the UK and Europe. The over 50s are therefore an essential and highly valuable talent pool which is in need of practical support to find and retain work at executive level.”
CNA believe that some of the UK’s biggest employers will be keen to benefit from employing older, more experienced workers.
Nick Sprang, Director of CNA Executive Search, added: “This is a really exciting venture for CNA and allows us to further expand the services that we offer. This is new territory for executive search firms in the UK and we are delighted to be championing older workers at a time when employers are opening their eyes to the benefits of having an age diverse workforce.”
The over 50s are a workforce demographic believed to be loyal and flexible as well as, generally, having great customer service skills and a high work ethic. Meanwhile, Andy Briggs, the Government’s Business Champion for Older Workers, has recently called for UK employers to increase the number of workers, who are over 50, by a minimum of 12% by 2022.
