Manchester Evening News reports that Manchester-based Solitair Holiday’s, the specialist tour operator of singles holidays and cruises, has revved up record sales. Revenue for July was up 108 per cent year-on-year and passenger numbers have increased by 43 per cent compared to the same period in 2016. The latest holiday booking data from Solitair for the period January to end of July 2017 show increased spending by 33 per cent and revenue up 46 per cent on 2016, despite Brexit and the falling value of the pound.
Solitair provides holidays to more than 24 destinations across the UK, Europe and worldwide, with 15 cruise destinations, and has continually invested in its holiday offering. Especially its adventure and activity packages having seen an increase in enquiries over the last 18-months from over 50’s customers looking for adrenaline fuelled holidays.
Sian Jones, managing director said: “Today single holidaymakers are looking to travel abroad to take part in adventure activities ticking off them all essential ‘bucket-list’ items, rather than simply spending time lounging on a beach to recharge their batteries. “Whether that be a hiking holiday, scuba diving or a cruise, they want to feel like they are learning a new skill or living life to the full at the same time as seeing wonderful places around the world. “With the market continually evolving we have plans to offer more special interest holidays ranging from historical holidays to wine and gastronomy breaks. “In addition to increasing our portfolio of UK breaks to allow single travellers to get a feel for our holidays before they travel abroad.”
