Looking after yourself
Taking care of yourself is as crucial as the person you’re caring for. And so here are some tips on what to look out for and what you can do:
• If you have family and friends close by don’t be afraid to ask for help.
• Hire a care agency to help you with practical tasks such as cleaning, hoovering, shopping. Click here for more information.
• Tell your GP so that it is on your notes that you are caring for another person. Make sure that you get a regular flu jab.
• Register with the local carers group so they have a record of you and you get information they send out. Click here to find health services in your area.
