If you’re one of the 56% of over 50s that are single or even if you and your partner want to experience different things, travelling on your own doesn’t have to be a challenging experience.

When it comes to finding suitable and affordable holidays for single travellers the tide is turning. A growing number of companies have now tapped into the fact that demand from solo holidaymakers is enormous. According to the Office for National Statistics, nearly a third of UK households are now occupied by just one person – a figure that has doubled since the sixties.

There’s now more choice than ever for single travel. Plus, more mainstream escorted holiday companies are making special efforts to tailor some of their breaks to solo travellers.
